The golden hour, upgraded

Fishing and Sunset Combo Tou

Cabo San Lucas has one of the most spectacular sunsets in the world. That is not a marketing line, it is a geographic fact. The peninsula ends here, El Arco frames the horizon, and the entire Pacific opens up west of the marina. Most sunset tours in town take you out on a crowded party boat, hand you a plastic cup, and call it a night. That is not what we do.

Our combo tour makes the afternoon last longer and matter more. The fishing lines go out from the start, so the whole sail has a quiet undertone of anticipation. When something bites, the mood shifts and the crew springs into action. When nothing does, the wine is flowing, the appetizers are perfect, and the sun keeps sinking. Either way, you end the evening in the golden hour with a full glass in hand and El Arco lit up behind you.

Part 1 · Afternoon Fishing

Trolling the Pacific in golden light

The afternoon light in Cabo San Lucas is different than any other time of day. Softer. Warmer. The kind of light that makes everything look like a painting. That is when we sail out, and the fishing lines go out with us.

This is trolling style fishing, which means we sail at a slow, steady pace with the lines running behind, letting the boat do the work. If a Pacific catch hits, one of you gets to reel it in while the crew handles bait, drag, and everything technical. If you have never fished before, you will feel confident within minutes. If you are already experienced, you will appreciate that we run good gear and know these waters.

The afternoon and pre sunset hours are often the most productive for surface fishing in Baja, since many species come up to feed as the water cools. Whatever you catch, we take photos, the crew filets on request, and then we keep sailing toward the horizon.

Part 2 · The Sunset

El Arco, Land’s End, and the open Pacific

As the sun starts to lower, we position the catamaran for the main event. Our route takes you past some of the most iconic landmarks in Baja California Sur, timed so you experience each one at the perfect moment:

Lover’s Beach and Divorce Beach. The two beaches at the very tip of the peninsula, one facing the Sea of Cortez, the other facing the Pacific. From the water you get the perspective that beach visitors never see.

The sea lion colony. A rocky outcrop where sea lions haul out to bark, sun themselves, and put on a show for anyone paying attention. In the golden hour their fur glows amber. It is a moment.

El Arco de Cabo San Lucas. The rock arch at Land’s End is the most photographed landmark in Baja. From our position, you see it framed against the sunset with the Pacific stretching out behind it. This is the postcard shot.

Open water sunset. Once past El Arco, we anchor in the open water where the horizon is unbroken. Nothing but water, sky, the sun sinking, and our catamaran. This is where the phone cameras come out and stay out.

All of this while the bar is open, the appetizers are on the deck table, and the crew is quietly making sure the whole scene stays effortless.

Sunset Combo FAQs

Everything else you might want to know

The most common questions we get about the fishing and sunset combo. If yours is not here, send us a message and we will answer within a few hours.

What does the Fishing and Sunset Combo include?

Two of the most iconic Cabo experiences in a single sail. From the moment we clear the marina, the fishing lines go out and stay out through the whole afternoon, giving the ocean plenty of chances to bring you a Pacific catch. Then as the sun starts to dip, we position the catamaran for one of the best sunset views in Baja: El Arco, Land's End, the sea lion colony, and open water with the Pacific spreading out around us. Full fishing gear, sailor chef appetizers, premium open bar, bilingual crew, and a sunset that no one on board forgets.

How long is the combo tour?

The tour runs 3 to 4 hours, timed to arrive at the sunset point right as the sky starts to turn. The fishing happens throughout the sail, so you get real trolling time on the way out and often on the way back too. Timing shifts seasonally to match the sunset hour. We handle the schedule for you.

What kind of fishing do we do?

Trolling. The lines go out as soon as we leave the marina and stay out through the whole sail. If a Pacific catch hits, one of you reels it in and the crew handles the rest. No experience required. If you have never touched a rod, our crew coaches you through the fight. If you are an experienced angler, you will appreciate that we run good gear and know these waters.

What if we do not catch anything?

The Pacific is generous but never guaranteed. Some afternoons the fish are biting, some afternoons they are quiet. Either way, you still get a luxury catamaran sail, the best sunset in Cabo San Lucas, premium open bar, gourmet appetizers, and photos you will use for years. The fishing is a bonus on top of an already unforgettable evening.

Can we choose which catamaran?

Yes. The Zig Zag is our Belize 43 Fountaine Pajot, ideal for groups up to 30 or for anyone who wants a roomier, more social feel. The Blue Lagoon is our Lagoon 43 with 4 private cabins and 4 en suite bathrooms, ideal for intimate groups up to 14 who want a more private, yacht style experience. Both come with the same fishing gear, kitchen, bar, and sunset views.

Is this a private tour?

Yes, this combo is always a private charter. Just your group on the catamaran, no strangers sharing the boat. That means the schedule, the pace, the menu, and even the exact sunset positioning can flex to what your group wants.

What food and drinks are included?

For the sunset combo we serve gourmet appetizers rather than a full lunch, since we sail through the afternoon into the golden hour. Expect turkey and cheese baguettes, chips, Mexican salsa, our famous fresh guacamole, and light bites. Premium open bar the entire time: beer, margaritas, red and white wine, rum, vodka, tequila, whisky, soft drinks, juice and water. Custom menus available on request for private groups.

Is the sunset combo good for couples?

This is one of the most romantic experiences we offer. Anniversaries, honeymoons, proposals, or just a memorable evening. If you want us to help make it extra special (private toast, custom playlist, personalized decor), let us know when you book and we can coordinate the details.

Is it good for families with kids?

Yes. Kids love the fishing action, and the sunset itself is unforgettable at any age. Snacks and non alcoholic drinks are always included alongside the bar. The 3 to 4 hour length works well for families with young children too, since it is shorter than a full day tour.

What should I bring?

A light layer for after sunset (Cabo evenings can turn cool once the sun is down), comfortable clothes, a camera or phone for the sunset shots, and a good attitude. We handle absolutely everything else, from fishing gear to appetizers to the timing of the whole evening.

Ready to fish your way into the golden hour? Reserve your combo tour and let the crew take care of the timing.
